About

M&M Finishing was founded in 2006 by Marc and Elizabeth Schlemmer, and by 2009 was servicing the Research and Development needs of the Thermal Spray and Coatings industry. Both have been working in the Thermal Spray Coatings industry since the mid 1980's with experience in all aspects of the coatings process.

Expertice includes Masking/Tooling techniques, Application Methods, Laboratory Evaluation, Quality Control Measures, Robotics and overall Production Processing Methods.

Our goal is to work with you and your company to develop coatings, processes, and tooling to meet your requirements. We will work with you from concept through transition to a production facility...or anything in between.

M&M Finishing is an approved FAA Part 145 Repair Station.

R&D: Aerospace

Overview of a typical past project:

Developed a coating application technique that was necessitated by advanced component design.

Scope included all aspects of processing including masking, tooling, process parameters, and Robotic programming. In addition, detailed part simulations were designed and used to accuratly demonstrate coating capability without sacrificing engine hardware.

Process was ultimately successfully transferred to multiple production facilies both US and abroad.

R&D: Automotive

Overview of a typical past project:

Developed a coating application on an innovative adjustable valve design.

Requirements included preventing wear and reducing friction. Unique masking methods were required due to strict flow requriements through valve body.

Work included specifying coating material, location, masking concepts as well as providing multiple iterations of sample parts for testing and concept prove-out.

R&D: Research Firms and Universities

Overview of a typical past project:

Provide support for testing facilities by applying Ceramic and other YSZ materials on on both test rigs and other components.

Work with designers to develop ceramics with specific charactristics to meet application requirements.
