Aircraft Specialties, Inc. was founded in 1985 as a Part-145 wheel and brake repair station. Over the years of honing our craft, our family-owned business is a world-renowned aviation company recognized for its industry-leading quality and customer service. Repair & Overhaul
With an ASI aircraft wheel or brake overhaul, you’ll receive superior customer service that results in a premium quality product. Our experienced technicians perform maintenance in accordance with the CMM and/or other data approved by the administrator. Our Level II Inspectors will perform complete NDT inspections overseen by our quality department to ensure your unit is structurally sound.
After inspection, each assembly is primed and painted with a premium mil-spec coating, providing a corrosion barrier to prolong the life of the assembly. Once your unit is fully assembled by our talented technicians, it will receive a final quality inspection.
All brakes are tested with our fully automated test benches and all wheels receiving a tire will get a 12-hour stretch, followed by a 24-hour leak check to ensure quality and safety. After perfecting our methods since 1985, we've built a global reputation for our premium overhauls. It's easy to say, with ASI, you can expect the best.
NDT
At ASI, all NDT inspections are performed by our Level II certified inspectors. That means you can be confident your unit is being handled by professionals. Our Non-Destructive Testing inspections include Magnetic-Particle, Eddy-Current and Liquid Penetrant testing. All our inspectors are trained in accordance with ASNT recommended practice, SNT-TC-1A. And of course, our NDT procedures are always performed in accordance with the latest inspection requirements. Each unit that is being overhauled will receive complete NDT inspection. However, if your unit is not in need of a full overhaul, we offer NDT as a service on it’s own. With this service you’ll receive an 8130-3 certificate stating “Inspected," and signed off on by our quality department.
